Your Hospital Stay
From the moment of admission, patients are cared for by Dr. Fabio Tresoldi and his clinical team throughout their surgical pathway. Discharge planning begins early, allowing each stage of hospitalization and postoperative recovery to be organized according to the individual patient's clinical needs.
We understand that undergoing spine surgery and being admitted to hospital can be a source of concern. Our aim is therefore to provide patients with clear information, continuous clinical support and attentive care throughout their stay, whether they are undergoing a day procedure or require a longer period of hospitalization.
Some procedures may allow patients to be admitted and discharged on the same day (Day Surgery), while patients requiring overnight monitoring or a longer postoperative stay are admitted as inpatients. The length of hospitalization depends on the type of procedure performed, the patient's clinical condition and the progress of their postoperative recovery.
For patients travelling from another region of Italy or from abroad, having family members nearby can provide valuable support during hospitalization and the early stages of recovery. When required, information can be provided regarding suitable accommodation close to the hospital, allowing relatives or accompanying persons to remain within easy reach throughout the patient's stay.
Discharge and Recovery
Planning for discharge and recovery begins shortly after surgery. Depending on the procedure performed and the patient's clinical condition, mobilization and rehabilitation may begin during the early postoperative period under the guidance of the clinical team.
Patients and, where appropriate, their families are kept informed about the progress of recovery, the expected length of hospital stay and the criteria that need to be met before discharge.
When leaving the hospital, patients are generally advised to arrange for a family member or accompanying person to assist them with their journey home.
Before discharge, each patient receives clear instructions regarding the next stages of recovery. These may include postoperative care, medication, activity and mobility recommendations, rehabilitation when required, and arrangements for a follow-up consultation.
Recovery after spine surgery varies according to the procedure performed, the underlying spinal condition and the individual patient. For this reason, the postoperative pathway is tailored to each patient's specific clinical needs.
The objective is to support a safe and progressive return to everyday activities, while monitoring neurological recovery, managing postoperative symptoms and helping each patient achieve the best possible functional outcome and quality of life.
